Summer 2026
Good morning everyone,
Inzozi Learning Center is preparing to reopen summer programming in Gashora on Monday, 13 July 2026.
The education director has recommended starting right away because the children are eager to return, and the community is already showing strong interest. We anticipate at least 150 children participating.
This summer program will give children a safe, structured place to learn, create, move, and reconnect. Activities will include literacy, reading, spelling, math support, ICT, debate, drama, traditional and modern dance, chess, STEM, creative arts, movement, football, handball, entrepreneurship, and senior-level science support.
The total baseline cost for the summer program is 651,000 RWF. Support already committed has brought the remaining launch gap down to 200,000 RWF.
We are inviting the community to support closing this 200,000 RWF gap so the program can begin on time. If we raise above the summer gap, the additional funds will support a final celebration day for the students with refreshments and certificates to honor their participation.
About Inzozi
Inzozi Learning Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Gashora, a rural community just south of Kigali near the Burundi border. The land carries the deep scars of the 1994 genocide, which claimed more than 40,000 lives in this region alone.
Today, 98% of families in Gashora rely on agriculture, and 65% live below the poverty line. Education is how we break that cycle — free classes, books, tutoring, and a safe place for children and adults to keep learning.
Together, let's turn dreams into possibilities — one learner, one family, one community at a time.

Voices from Gashora
“When a child opens a book at Inzozi, you can see a whole future opening with it. This center belongs to all of us.”
— Volunteer, Gashora
Join our Dream Weavers Circle — 100 founding supporters pledging at least $25/month for the next two years. As a new nonprofit, we need this base to unlock grants and corporate funding. Dream Weavers receive a name on the Donor Mural, behind-the-scenes updates, and an annual gift.
